What are COVID-19/Influenza A&B?
COVID-19 & Influenza A&B are both highly contagious viral infections with similar symptoms.
COVID-19 is caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, while influenza A and B are caused by different strains of the influenza virus.
Both COVID-19 and influenza can cause respiratory illness, but there are some key differences between the two. COVID-19 is a relatively new disease and there is still much to learn about it, but so far it appears to have a longer incubation period (the time between exposure to the virus and the onset of symptoms) than influenza, and it can also cause a wider range of symptoms. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough, and fatigue, but it can also cause loss of taste or smell, headaches, and difficulty breathing. Influenza typically causes fever, chills, body aches, and a sore throat, as well as a cough and congestion.
Another major difference is how easily the viruses spread. COVID-19 is considered to be more contagious than influenza, and it can be spread through the air by respiratory droplets, as well as through contact with contaminated surfaces and close personal contact. Influenza is primarily spread through the air by respiratory droplets.
It’s important to remember that both COVID-19 and influenza can cause serious illness and death, particularly in people who are at high risk, such as older adults or people with underlying health conditions, and it’s important to take precautions to protect yourself and others.
It’s recommended to regularly test for COVID-19 and Influenza A&B. Testing is an important part of the treatment and prevention journey.
